This test is using a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Hardtop, LS1 motor, and manual transmission. These can be considered a well built sports car. Also these cars are very quick for a stock car.
I am not trying to say these cars are not quick, because they are, however, I am saying that it is very possible for a Mustang with slight modifications to be quicker.
The Mustang used in this test, has the modifications listed below, plus 245/16/50 rear tires mounted on the stock wheels.
